Our fellowship values integrity, diversity, teamwork and innovation. The cardiothoracic anesthesia and critical care faculty are an experienced group of educators and leaders from diverse backgrounds with expertise in a wide array of clinical and research arenas. The UCLA fellowship experience draws on our institution’s high-acuity, complex pathology, and multidisciplinary approach to patient care to provide our trainees with unparalleled educational opportunities. We create a collegial environment for our fellows to learn adult and pediatric cardiothoracic anesthesiology, transesophageal (TEE) and transthoracic (TTE) echocardiography, structural heart disease, percutaneous and minimally-invasive approaches to cardiac surgery, and pacemaker and ICD management. Echocardiography is a vital component to fellowship training, and we emphasize a broad application of cardiovascular imaging for complex clinical decision making, procedural guidance, and research.
