Does your program provide fellows with the opportunity to attend national or local conferences?Yes, fellows are expected to attend the SCA Annual Meeting and are encouraged to attend any other meetings of interest to them. They have 5 educational days to use toward this effort.
Overall comments regarding your program.Strong clinical program with a wide variety of high acuity cases. Flexible year with easy-going attendings and exceptional surgeons. We have a robust didactic curriculum with many educational opportunities. This includes weekly lectures on Wednesday mornings with a dedicated cardiac anesthesia faculty, monthly echo rounds with the cardiac section, quarterly or bi-monthly journal club with cardiac surgery and anesthesia, and almost daily echo reading sessions. Additionally, our fellows attend relevant echo conferences with cardiology.
