Committee Description

STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: EDUCATION
SCA will be a global leader in comprehensive professional development that promotes the provision of safe, high quality, cost-effective medical care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.

MISSION
The Perioperative Ultrasound Course Program Planning Committee maintains the quality of the scientific content of the Perioperative Ultrasound Course and ensures consistency, continuity and balance in the programming.

PURPOSE
The committee designs the overall program for the Ultrasound Course. Specific duties include:

  1. To review the content of the online portion of the course as provided by iTeachU.
  2. To determine the basic schedule for the course, working within the constraints of the facility and SCA’s budget.
  3. To identify and select the faculty for the course.
  4. To participate, as needed by staff, in course events on-site, review course evaluations and offer suggestions for future courses accordingly.

PARENT COMMITTEE
The committee reports to the CME Committee.

MEETING
The committee meets at least once per year.

COMPOSITION
The committee is composed of three Course Directors.

TERM
Committee members serve for a term of two years for any number of terms, but not more than three terms consecutively.
