Before You Arrive in Atlanta

Prior to the hands-on workshop, it is recommended that you review the following components of the Online Perioperative Ultrasound Course. This will give you a foundational understanding to build upon at the workshop and will enhance your hands-on learning experience.

Modules: Please review information about the following 4 Core Subjects in the Online Couse. Please note that you are not required to complete/review all of the information in any given module prior to the workshop, but it is recommended that you have an understanding of the 4 Core Subjects.

  • Basic Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
    • To prepare for the hands-on course, focus on the information in the module related to 2D imaging and color flow.
  • Lungs
  • Vessels
  • Abdomen and Peri-Arrest

Assessments/Case Studies: Please complete 1-3 case studies for each of the modules listed above.

All participants will rotate through the following stations for the rotations 1-10 noted above.

Station 2 Lung and Lower Extremity Venous Ultrasound
Station 3 Abdominal Ultrasound (FAST): Identifying Free-Fluid in the Abdomen
Station 4 TTE: Cardiac Evaluation with Apical Windows
Station 5 TTE: Cardiac Exam Sequence
Station 6 Vascular Access: Identification of Arterial and Venous Anatomy
Station 7 TTE: Cardiac Evaluation with Subcostal Windows
Station 8 Lung and Lower Extremity Venous Ultrasound
Station 9 TTE: Cardiac Exam Sequence
Station 10 Rescue PoCUS: Rescue Echo Applications of Point-of-Care Ultrasound
