The SCA Welcomes Three New SCA Board of Directors

The SCA members have spoken through their e-mail balloting!! The votes are now counted and it can be announced that the two new members elected to the Board of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists are David Cook, MD and Martin London, MD. In addition, based upon changes made in the bylaws by the SCA membership this past April at our Annual Business Meeting, Dr. Glenn Gravele has appointed a third member to the Board of Directors - Gary Roach, MD. It is my pleasure to introduce them to you:

David Cook, MD is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and a cardiac anesthesiologist in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has been a member of the SCA since 1994 and presently serves as the Chair of the SCA Publication Committee. Dr. Cook has participated in many of our SCA meetings as both a lecturer and a presenter of scientific data.
Martin London, MD is a Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the University of California/Veterans Affair Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. He has been a member of the SCA since 1984 and has served in the past as the Chair of the Membership Committee, as well as a member of the Program, Education, and Electronic Communications Committees. Dr. London has also participated in many SCA meetings as both a lecturer and a presenter of scientific data.
Gary Roach, MD is a private practice Cardiac Anesthesiologist at the Kaiser-Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco. He has an appointment as a Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He has been a member of SCA since 1984 and has served as the Program Committee Chair for the SCA as well as being a member of the Electronic Communications and Future Meetings Committees. He has participated as a speaker in many SCA meetings, including the Comprehensive Review of Intraoperative Echo Meeting.

We all should welcome the three outstanding individuals who will help guide the SCA as members of the board for the coming years. It is through the dedication and voluntary efforts of individuals, such as these, that the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists continues to grow in membership and importance. Congratulations!
