Requirements:

The Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology will be charged with working strategically and collaboratively with the existing anesthesia group.  In addition, the Chief will be expected to expand clinical services, develop a fellowship program, and assist in the recruitment of additional staff. 

Description:

Pediatric Anesthesiology, PA (PAPA) and Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, the pediatric teaching facility of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, have initiated a national search for a Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology.   PAPA is a private practice group of nine physicians providing both pediatric anesthesiology and pediatric cardiac anesthesiology coverage to Le Bonheur.   

Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center opened a new $327 million, 610,000 square foot hospital in December 2010.  This 255 bed, free-standing pediatric hospital includes a 10 bed CVICU, 120-bed NICU and a 25 bed PICU and has a medical staff of 558 physicians specializing in 45 subspecialties. 

Additional highlights include:

• PAPA is supported by 18 CRNAs (expanding to 25) who cover the hospital 24/7; and is also affiliated with four anesthesia nursing schools.
• PAPA provides anesthesia coverage for 15 ORs, 2 Cardiac ORs, 2 Cath Labs, 2 Star Light Rooms, 2 GI Labs, 3 MR Scanners: 1.5T, 3T, and interoperative MR units, 2 CT Scanners, Trauma Room and Transplant Room10 bed CVICU; 120 bed NICU; 25 bed PICU; and Neuro Science Institute.
• Eligible and supported at the appropriate faculty rank at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
